The day had finally come! We were so excited! I definitely never realized just how much goes into moving one of these! Granted we chose to help move the blocks and help with whatever we could to keep cost down a little bit.
The trailer was delivered September18, and little did I know...when mobile homes are transported, things happen. Things break. Walls fall down. So, all that mudding and painting we did? Yeah, a lot of that had to be redone. I felt a little deflated. It wasn't terrible but still, what we had to refix kept us that many more days from getting out of the camper.Â

Thankfully it wasn't too bad. The trailer had to be reinforced before it could be moved. When they first hooked up and started to lift it, the roof got waves. You could actually see the bubbling on both the sides and the roof. We had to wait a couple more days while we waited for a welder. So, considering the whole house didn't cave in on itself, I'd say we got off pretty easy.
Here is where I really wish I would have taken more pictures. Pictures of all the help we had. Unfortunately, the bills said it was time for me to get back to work so I missed most of the helpers. But we truly have the best friends and family! From electric, water, sewer hook-ups to laying our floor and hanging some doors to helping us move some of our furniture in. We will never be able to thank each and every one who helped enough!
We slept in the trailer for the first time November 18 and by the end of December, it was starting to feel like a home. We still at this point didn't have a fully functioning Kitchen...but, after 2 years in the camper we were finally able to have a Christmasy Christmas.
Now, we're focusing on de-trailering the trailer. Just because it's a trailer, doesn't mean it has to feel one. So, we're going room by room and making it feel like the new build we may or may not eventually build. I'm so excited! I have so many ideas!
